Dixie Bee Elementary School Purpose Statement
Teachers, administrators, parents and the community of Dixie Bee School maintain high expectations for academic growth of all students. Students learn best when actively engaged in the learning process in a positive, safe, and secure school environment.

Today is a new day. Yesterday is in the past. Today I pledge to believe in myself, explore opportunities, experience excellence, and serve others. I am proud to be a bee!
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
February 2 – Groundhog Day! Welcome back from E-learning! Everyone did an amazing job with synchronous learning!!!February 3-6 – Super Bowl Poster Contest!! $1.00 a vote with proceeds going to the Backpack Program!!
February 9 – 13 – “Sweet Surprise” Student Council $1.00 Fundraiser from 7:50 – 8:10! More information forthcoming!
February 11 – Student Council meeting from 2:40 – 4:00!
February 12 – “Bee Connected” parent informational meeting at 7:30 AM in the Media Center! All parents are invited to attend!
February 13 – Classroom Valentine parties!!
February 14 – Happy Valentine’s Day!! “I’ll love you ‘til the end of time, if you will be my Valentine!”
February 16– No school in honor of President’s Day.
February 17– Mid-term reports will be sent home in the Tuesday folder with students dropping 2 letter grades in any given subject from their last report card or receiving a failing mark in any area.
February 17 – They’re BACK!! Dixie Bee Skate Party!! 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Hot Wheels Event Center, formally known as Skate World - $5.00 admission fee!
February 17– 20– Kindness Spirit Week!!
17 – “Workout Gear!” Work out our problems with kindness!
18– “Animal Print or Camo!” – Wild about kindness!
19 - “Hair Bow, Bow Tie or Neck Ties!” – Kindness ties us together!
20– “Dixie Bee Gear Day!” Dixie Bee students are kind students!
February 20 – “Cookies with Mrs. Cassell,” at 2:00 PM!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- GT Testing - This spring, all students in grades kindergarten, one and five will be tested for the Gifted and Talented Program. A G/T Potential test will be administered in February for students in these grade levels. In addition, each student's classroom achievement scores will also be reviewed. Families whose children are recommended for the 2nd and 6th grade G/T Program will be notified from Central Office in May.
- CONGRATULATIONS!! – Mayor Sakbun’s Character Education classroom nominees for the month of January (Caring- "Feeling or showing concern and/or kindness to others,”) are Kindergarten: Ezra Evans, Addisynn Fugate, Wren Kleinhenz, Ava Lishin and Ava Talpas, 1st Grade: Joshua Diaz Ordaz, Charlotte Fisher, Leo Hassler, and Sawsan Kareem, 2nd Grade: Mallory Amodeo, Kinley Beckley, Edwin Fenner, Aaria Patel and Ryleigh Tesman, 3rd Grade: Lucy Hendrix, Lincoln Jordan, Brooklyn Kellams, Lillian Tesman and Kai Ueda, 4th Grade: Akito Ando, Silas Bass, Elijah Hickmon and Dora Kotucz, 5th Grade: Jasmine Ngeno, Sanjana Reddy Pothamsetti, Keilani Smith and Owen Zuo. Special congratulations are in order to fifth grader, Keilani Smith who will represent Dixie Bee this month at the City Council meeting!!
- Voicemail – Many times when trying to get a hold of parents, we reach a voicemail on the cell phone that states the mailbox has not been set up for that number. When this happens, we cannot leave any type of message for you regarding your child. Please check to make sure your voice mail is set up to accept messages! Thank you!
- A Reminder! – The ILEARN spring testing window for grades 3, 4 and 5 is April 13 – May 8, 2026. Please do not schedule any out-of-town activities during this time frame. Thank you!
